Building A Youth Consciousness
Musician
Joe Rathburn
Submitted by uber on Sat, 08/28/2010 - 2:34pmJoe Rathburn is a San Diego based singer/songwriter whose music was spiritually infused long before he'd ever heard of Religious Science. With a slightly skewed sense of whimsy running throughout most of his songs, Joe will tend to make you smile while he makes you think about your own spirituality and view of the world.
A man whose performance experience includes coffeehouses, restaurants, RS churches of all sizes, to conferences, concerts, festivals, arenas, and even live world wide video webcasts, and who has released 3 CDs of original material and is working on a fourth, Joe will strike you as one who is very comfortable at what he does, yet never so comfortable as to be jaded or blazé. A fine guitar player and expressive and heartfelt singer, Joe has been charming audiences for over 3 decades.
He hosts an occasional songwriter showcase he lovingly calls The Folkey Monkey. It got its name not only from its original venue, the Hot Monkey Love Café, but from Joe's addiction to folk/acoustic music. Hence he has a folk monkey on his back. The Folkey Monkey has been presented since August of 2005. To find out when and where the next one be held visit http://folkeymonkey.com for specifics on The Folkey Monkey, or http://joerathburn.com for more info on Joe.
